I am working in the field of Cognitive IoT with applications in cognitive buildings, environment and industry. My interest is in creating cognitive solutions that utilizes automated machine learning, semantic models, diagnostic reasoning at scale with novel natural user interfaces.

Prior to joining IBM, I was leading the junior research group “Energy Design” of Cyber Physical Systems in the ResUbic Lab in Dresden as well as the data analysis group in the Irish strategic research cluster ITOBO as Feodor-Lynen fellow of the Humboldt-Foundation. I received my master in electrical engineering for automation and control and a PhD in computer science at Technical University Dresden. I am chair of the IEEE IES Technical Committee on Building Automation and Control as well as program committee member of several renowned international conferences and journals.
